Customer is King
Ok so you’ve probably heard this from me before. Our customers pay all of our salaries, bills and everything we do. That is why they are the Kings if you will of our business. They trust and choose to do business with us and we earn that trust with the quality, selection and service we provide. They have choices so we should feel proud that we are their choice. Everyone from receiving, sales, distribution, inventory and management team are responsible. Not one department is more important than the others. Tell me an organ that’s not important in your body every one contributes something. So in turn it falls on us to understand and listen to our customers. In everything we do we should consider our customers perspective. We work daily to understand what our customers want and need and how we can outperform their expectations. This should be our expectation. We should always try to do that little extra thing that’s above the expected. Look for that something whether it’s load plants and helping with tarping to offering customers water or excelling in communication. 95% is not acceptable only when we rise above 100% of expectations are we excelling. When we have customers come to our nursery the first expectation is that they be acknowledged. I know everyone generally is engaged but take the time to acknowledge their presence and direct them to someone who can meet their needs. Or acknowledge them and let them know that they will be helped asap. I believe that we do a lot of the things I’m talking about. But let’s make it obvious.
